The best part of the transport experience? Receiving your vehicle!
But you want to make sure you follow the correct steps to make sure the process is as smooth as possible, right?
So, what should you do?
Perform a quick inspection when you receive your vehicle
Apart from greeting the driver, make sure the vehicle has arrived in good conditions.
If your vehicle is being shipped in an open trailer, be aware that weather conditions may not leave the vehicle in the cleanest conditions, just as if you were to drive it yourself.
Throughly inspect the vehicle and if there are any changes or damages, take pictures and talk to the driver and the broker within 24 hours in the rare case that it does happen.
Notate any changes on the Bill of Lading (BOL) & request a copy of it
This step is crucial! If it isn’t on the BOL before you signed the vehicle as delivered, there won’t be much that can be done.
Otherwise, request a copy of the BOL, it’s always good to have proof of the delivery from the carrier company.
Make the payment (unless it has already been made)
The carrier did the job and you received your vehicle, regardless of the condition of the vehicle.
In our case, payments are made in cash, cashier’s check or money order (for specific details call Customer Service department).
If you feel like the service was well done, feel free to tip them as well!
And feel free to leave some feedback of the transport!
Want to be extra cautious?
You can take pictures of the vehicle when it’s being unloaded. Drivers who enjoy their job will always try to do their best as a transporter, but sometimes it’s best to have proof.
